Description
This scholarship was established to honor Tim and Beverly McCoy in recognition of their faithful service at Ingleside Baptist Church in Macon, GA, where Dr. Timothy A. McCoy served as Lead Pastor for almost 35 years (September 1989-June 2024). Dr. McCoy’s ministry was marked by faithfulness in preaching and teaching the Word of God, by integrity and excellence in leadership, and by a commitment to make disciples of all nations. In celebration of the legacy of faithfulness of Tim and Beverly McCoy, this scholarship fund is designed to provide tuition assistance (not including housing, books, etc.) to students who are pursuing theological education at Southern Seminary.
Scholarships shall be awarded annually to assist qualified men and women enrolled as students pursuing a master’s degree (M.Div. or M.A.). Priority shall be given to students who are: (1) men of exceptional promise who aspire to serve as the lead preaching pastor in a local Southern Baptist church setting; and (2) men or women of exceptional promise who aspire to serve as missionaries with the International Mission Board of the SBC.
Qualifications
- Students must be full-time (9+ paid credit hours).
- Students must be taking courses at the Louisville campus. Online students are not eligible to apply. Students taking both on-campus and online courses are eligible to apply if enrolled in a greater number of on-campus hours than online hours.
- Students must be admitted into a master’s degree program. Non-degree seeking students are not eligible to receive institutional financial aid.
- This scholarship excludes the Dual Highschool Enrollment Program, bachelor’s, Seminary Track, and doctoral degrees.
- Students must maintain good standing for eligibility. Students on academic probation, academic warning, or disciplinary probation are not eligible to apply.
