Description
The Grace Baptist Church of Cumberland, Maryland Legacy Scholarship was created to provide tuition assistance (not to include housing, dining, books, etc.) to qualified students pursuing a master’s degree at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with the intended purpose of assisting those who wish to become or are Southern Baptist Ministers and require financial assistance in doing so.
Scholarships shall be awarded annually and divided equally between the Fall and Spring semesters. Scholarship will be awarded to students pursuing a master’s degree (M. Div or M.A.) in the School for Theology or the Billy Graham School of Missions, Evangelism, and Ministry.
All scholarships will be given on first-come, first-served basis. The scholarship will be in addition to the current scholarships and student aid programs of the Southern Seminary.
Qualifications
- Minimum GPA of 3.00
- Students must be full-time (9+ paid credit hours)
- Students must be taking courses at the Louisville campus. Online students are not eligible to apply. Students taking both on-campus and online courses are eligible to apply if enrolled in a greater number of on-campus hours than online hours
- Students must be admitted into a degree program. Non-degree seeking students are not eligible to receive financial aid
- Students must maintain good standing for eligibility. Students on academic probation, academic warning, or disciplinary probation are ineligible
- Students must complete the College Board PROFILE application by the appropriate deadline listed below

- Submit one letter of recommendation from a pastor who can attest to your ministry and Christian character
- Submit one letter of recommendation from a faculty who can attest to your integrity and Christian character
