The Chuck Palmer Memorial Missions Scholarship

Description

The Chuck Palmer Memorial Missions Scholarship was established in honor of Chuck Palmer, a servant of the Lord with a heart for missions and witnessing to the lost in all situations in his life. He traveled all around the world serving with missions teams, started many off-site Bible studies in Elizabethtown, KY, and would want the work to continue.

Accordingly, this scholarship is designed to provide tuition assistance (not including housing, books, etc.) to residential (not on-line) students who are pursuing theological education at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in the master’s programs in the School of Theology or the Billy Graham School of Missions, Evangelism and Ministry.

Scholarships shall be awarded annually and divided equally between the Fall and Spring semesters. All scholarships will be given on first-come, first-served basis. The scholarship will be in addition to the current scholarships and student aid programs of the Southern Seminary.

Qualifications

• Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Students must be full-time (9+ paid credit hours).
• Students must be taking courses at the Louisville campus. Online students are not eligible to apply. Students taking both on-campus and online courses are eligible to apply if enrolled in a greater number of on-campus hours than online hours.
• Students must be admitted into a degree program. Non-degree seeking students are not eligible to receive financial aid.
  • This scholarship excludes the Dual Highschool Enrollment Program, bachelor’s, Seminary Track, and doctoral degrees.
• Students must maintain good standing for eligibility. Students on academic probation, academic warning, or disciplinary probation are not eligible to apply.

    • A 500-word essay detailing your calling and passion for international missions and/or local church planting.
    • One letter of recommendation from a faculty who can attest to your academic, character, and/or leadership qualifications.
