Over the next few days, Towersonline will feature 10 live blogs from the Missional Church Planting conference at Sojourn Community Church.
Chuck Lawless, dean of the Billy Graham School of Missions and Evangelism at Southern Seminary, and J.D. Payne, associate professor of church planting and evangelism and director of the Church Planting Center at Southern, are two of the featured speakers at the conference.
The conference kicks off with eight sessions by Ed Stetzer, president of LifeWay Research and LifeWay’s missiologist in residence.
Biographies:
Stetzer has planted churches in New York, Pennsylvania and Georgia and transitioned declining churches in Indiana and Georgia. He has trained pastors and church planters on five continents. Stetzer holds to master’s degrees and two doctorates and has written dozens of articles and books. Stetzer also has a website Lawless has served as pastor of two different congregations in Ohio, and is the author of ‘Membership Matters,’ ‘Spiritual Warfare,’ ‘Discipled Warriors’ and ‘Making Disciples through Mentoring.’ Lawless also serves as director of professional doctoral studies at Southern and is president of the Lawless Group, a church consulting firm.
Payne, originally from Corbin, Ky., has served as a pastor of three churches in Kentucky and Indiana and has worked with five church planting teams.
