Campus bookstore reopening Thursday with new online conveniences

Communications Staff — August 5, 2020

The Bookstore at Southern Seminary reopens for business this week and incoming students will be able to order textbooks through a new online partnership.

Southern’s bookstore opens at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 6, upstairs in the Honeycutt Center directly above Founders Café. The physical bookstore has partnered with Akademos so students may now order all textbooks online. Ordering is easy: Akademos is synchronized with the syllabus for each class through Canvas, and when a particular class is accessed, textbooks will be listed, making it easy to buy them. Students may access their textbooks at sbts.edu/textbooks or through Canvas. The Bookstore retains the same price match guarantee as before and free shipping on all orders over $49.

The Bookstore at Southern Seminary has also partnered with 10ofThose to provide a website where books and branded merchandise may be ordered with $1 shipping. The site’s front page will feature new books and works newly published by SBTS faculty members and can be accessed at sbts.edu/online-bookstore.

“The Bookstore at Southern is excited to reopen with a reinvigorated commitment to serving the Southern Seminary and Boyce College community well,” store manager Jacob Percy said.

“This community has its heart in Louisville but extends around the globe. To better serve all those connected to Southern, we’ve formed strategic partnerships to bring textbooks to Southern’s growing online learning students and have launched an online partnership store so alumni can have early access to new faculty releases and branded products. Here on campus, the Bookstore will continue to provide students and faculty access to a high-quality theological bookstore and a great selection of branded products.”

The Bookstore at Southern will be open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to noon and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
