Dr. Oren Martin serves as Associate Professor of Christian Theology.
Dr. Oren Martin grew up in Houston, Texas, and has served in various capacities before coming to Southern Seminary and Boyce College. He has raced cars, worked for NASCAR, and pastored college students in a local church at Texas A&M University. He previously served as Associate Professor of Christian Theology and Director of the Seminary Track at Southern Seminary, before returning to Southern Seminary as Associate Professor in 2025. His research and teaching reflect a passion for Christ-centered theology, covenant theology, and the unity of Scripture. He currently serves as Pastor of Equipping at Providence Church in Frisco, Texas.
Martin has authored several books, and has contributed to and edited several theological volumes. In addition, he has published articles and book reviews for various publications including the Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society, Trinity Journal, and The Gospel Coalition. He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society.
He is gratefully married to Cindy and they have three children.
