Dr. Juan Carlos Martinez serves as Associate Professor of Leadership and Discipleship.
Dr. Martinez brings extensive experience in education, leadership development, and cross-cultural ministry. He currently serves as pastor of administration and discipleship at Lakeland Baptist Church in Lewisville, Texas. His work focuses on church and public administration, leadership training and development, cultural engagement, and discipleship in diverse ministry contexts.
He is an experienced public school educator and administrator in the State of Texas. Most recently, he served as Deputy Superintendent at the Irving Independent School District, where he led strategic initiatives in K–12 education while overseeing Human Resources, Employee Services, Administrative Services and Operations, and the district’s Legal Services Divisions.
Martinez holds a PhD in Organizational Leadership from Southern Seminary. A native Spanish speaker, he brings bilingual and bicultural expertise to the classroom and is deeply committed to mentoring leaders for gospel work in both the church and broader society.
He is married to Michelle, and they have three daughters.
