The Preaching Workshop is an opportunity designed for men serving as pastors and preaching regularly, providing a space for learning, networking, and retreat, held March 23–25, 2026.
This workshop offers you a unique opportunity to hear lectures from our Preaching faculty. This workshop combines ministry training with a retreat pace so that you leave better equipped and more refreshed, ready to lead and serve in your context more effectively. You will also have the opportunity to hear several lectures from Dr. Joel Beeke, who will be giving our campus-wide Mullins Lectures on Preaching during your stay.
Workshop participants will receive complimentary lodging and all meals for $800. Meals include mentoring sessions with faculty members and networking with fellow ministry leaders.
What is The Preaching Workshop?
A limited attendance workshop for men who serve as pastors and preach regularly, led by Southern Seminary faculty designed to help them sharpen their skills and strengthen relationships at a retreat pace.
The Workshop includes:
- Lectures and discussion tailored to the event from our Preaching faculty.
- Extensive time of discussion relating to preaching and ministry with fellow pastors.
- Shared meals with fellow attendees and Southern Seminary faculty.

Already a Southern student? Earn Course Credit while Attending the Workshop
Professional Doctoral Students:
- D.Min. students may receive 4 hours of seminar credit (80318– Expository Preaching in the Local Church) for attending the Workshop and completing additional coursework. Standard course tuition will be added to the total cost, in addition to the cost of the workshop.
- D.Min. students enrolled in the seminar will receive three nights of hotel lodging and meals provided.
Master’s Students:
- Current master’s students may receive 3 hours of credit (30177 – Studies in Preaching) for attending the workshop and completing additional work. Standard course tuition will be added to the total cost, in addition to the cost of the workshop.
- Master’s students enrolled in the course will receive three nights of hotel lodging and meals provided.
