The Pastoral Counseling Workshop is an opportunity designed for men serving in counseling ministries, providing a space for learning, networking, and retreat, held October 27-29, 2025.
This workshop offers you a unique opportunity to hear lectures from Dr. Jeremy Pierre, Dr. Robert Jones, and other SBTS Biblical Counseling Faculty. This workshop combines ministry training with a retreat pace so that you leave better equipped and more refreshed, ready to lead and serve in your context more effectively.
Workshop participants will receive complimentary lodging and all meals for $700. Meals include mentoring sessions with faculty members and networking with fellow ministry leaders.
What is The Pastoral Counseling Workshop?
A limited attendance workshop for men who serve in counseling ministries, led by Southern Seminary faculty designed to help them sharpen their skills and strengthen relationships at a retreat pace.
The Workshop includes:
- Lectures and discussion tailored to the event from Drs. Jeremy Pierre, Robert Jones, Colin McCulloch, and Matthew Haste.
- Extensive time of discussion relating to student ministry with fellow leaders.
- Shared meals with fellow attendees and Southern Seminary faculty.

Already a Southern student? Earn Course Credit while Attending the Workshop
Professional Doctoral Students:
- D.Min. students may receive 4 hours of seminar credit (80474 – Practical Theology in the Local Church) for attending the Workshop and completing additional coursework.
- D.Min. students enrolled in the seminar will receive three nights of hotel lodging and meals provided.
Master’s Students:
- Current master’s students may receive 3 hours of credit for 35077 Studies in Biblical Counseling for attending the workshop and completing additional work.
- Master’s students enrolled in the course will receive three nights of hotel lodging and meals provided.
