John Henderson serves as an Associate Pastor at University Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas, primarily overseeing the counseling, equipping, and family ministries of the church. Prior to this role, John served as Associate Pastor at Del Ray Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia as well as a Counseling Pastor at Denton Bible Church in Denton, Texas. John did his undergraduate study at Texas A&M University and his Master’s and PhD work at The University of North Texas. John joined the Biblical Counseling faculty of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2020 and serves as a council board member of the Biblical Counseling Coalition and a board member of the Association of Biblical Counselors. By God’s grace he has written Equipped to Counsel, a training curriculum in biblical counseling, and Catching Foxes, a book for marriage preparation, and he has contributed a number of articles, booklets, and book chapters. John and his wife Ruth live with their five children in northwest Arkansas.
