Martin served and taught in the Pacific Rim from 1988 to 1994.
Dr. George Martin serves as the Professor of Christian Mission and World Religions, and the Chair of the Department of Evangelism and Missions at Southern Seminary. Prior to coming to Southern in 1996, Dr. Martin was an Associate Professor of Religion at North Greenville College, and served with the International Mission Board in Southeast Asia. Dr. Martin is a Pastor at Baxter Avenue Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. He is married to Donna, and they have three children.
