Koinonia

OVERVIEW

Koinonia is a fellowship event for all women of the Southern community. We hope you will build the kind of relationships with other women during your time here that will last long into the future, wherever the Lord may take you.

Koinonia events are held twice a semester in Heritage Hall. The fellowship at each event will seek to encourage women in the current season they find themselves in, whether that is the home, the office, or the classroom. The events are free and include refreshments, door prizes, time for meeting others, and a program in which faculty wives and other experienced women invest in you. All Boyce and Southern students, student wives, female staff, and faculty and staff wives are invited.

Koinonia – Know Contentment

Monday, February 3, 2020

7:00 – 9:00pm, Heritage Hall

Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. – Philippians 4:11-13 (ESV)

In Philippians 4:11-13, we are reminded how the Apostle Paul was able to find Christ-centered contentment even in the midst of imprisonment and persecution for his faith. During this season of life in seminary and in college, we as women can face seemingly limitless challenges and temptations that compete for our minds’ attention and our hearts’ affections. Can we ever find that true sense of lasting, Christ-centered contentment no matter life’s season or circumstances?

Join us for our third Koinonia event of the 2019-2020 season, Know Contentment, on Monday, February 3, 2020, from 7:00 – 9:00PM in Heritage Hall. The evening’s programming will feature our campus’ very own faculty wives as they share personal stories of how the Lord has guided them through various trials, as well as how they have grown in a deeper, contented reliance upon our Lord and Savior. We pray that their testimonies and this evening of fellowship will be an encouragement to you in your specific life season.

Light refreshments will be provided. Childcare arrangements available by advance reservation only. (Please see Childcare Registration section below.)

If you have any questions, please contact the Women’s Ministry Coordinator, Riley Tieber, at women@sbts.edu.
