Who qualifies as a Student Organization Advisor?
> A full-time faculty or staff member
What are the Responsibilities of the Advisor?
1. Responsibility to the student organization >Serve as an encourager to the student leader/president: remind them of their academic responsibilities, personal well-being, and local church involvement >Be familiar with the general events planned by the organization >Advise organization leaders in the development and execution of events (e.g., suggest speakers, lecturers) >Maintain open communication with the leaders of the organization >Be available to serve as a link between the leaders of the organization from one year to the next >Attend at least one event per semester 2. Responsibility to the Student Life Office >As an advisor, you will need to familiarize yourself with the Student Organization Handbook to avoid violations of the stated policies and regulations. >Maintain open communication with the Student Life Office in the case a need for consultation arises
