Plan Ahead

Communicate with Print Shop staff as far in advance as possible about upcoming projects. We require a 1-business day minimum notice on all orders, and we operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. Customers requesting document or file manipulation, special finishing, or special paper stock on should allow a minimum of 2 business days. Customers printing bound books or booklets should allow a minimum of 3 business days. At peak times, priority is given to campus office orders. Multiple orders ahead of yours may mean that you will not receive your order on time. Print Shop personnel will make every effort to meet your needs and will notify you if your project cannot be completed within the requested time or format. Rush jobs (those desiring completion within the next business day) will be assessed a minimum of 20% upcharge.

Use Jotform/Formstack

This tracks orders and asks all the necessary questions upfront, which will expedite the process. If you have a hard copy of a document, you may bring it to the Mailing Services Center and fill out an order form there. We will also use this form to contact you regarding the completion of your order or with any clarifications and questions.

Be Responsive

Print Shop personnel will email you or, for time-sensitive orders, call if we have any questions concerning your order. We encourage clients to respond quickly and with as much detail as we request in order to complete your order. The time spent waiting for a response for clarification or proof approval can delay the turn-around time.

Format Documents Appropriately

The Print Shop is able to print from multiple graphics programs. However, PDF is the preferred format to submit an order. When a document needs to be printed at 11×14, it should be formatted to that size for the best results. If your document contains unusual or uncommonly used fonts, please send the fonts along with your order submission. The Print Shop can print from electronic files (submitted through the order form above), flash drives, and hard copies (dropped off at the Mailing Services Center); however, jobs should be print-ready upon submission. Jobs not properly formatted will be returned unprinted or assessed an additional 10% set-up fee. The Print Shop reserves the right to decline any projects that will not be able to be completed in the time or format requested.
