We are happy to announce that we are expanding our program. In addition to offering ballet, we will now have a very limited number of tap dance classes available. As we continually pursue to teach our dancers how to glorify the Lord through dance, these new classes will provide different benefits to our dancers than ballet. It has been said that “tap dance is the dance of creating music.” The quick nature of tap dance will encourage our dancers to develop rhythm and a greater sense of musical awareness. Coordinating the steps and sound of their shoes with the beat of the music will increase their timing and strength.
This limited expansion will begin with the addition of two new classes, Pre-Tap and Tap I. Pre-Tap will be for dancers age 4-5 and Tap I will be for dancers age 6-7. These classes may be taken in addition to Ballet classes.
The Bella Ballet School has continued to grow and evolve over the years as we have sought to serve more families. We are excited to explore offering this new benefit and we are looking forward to what the future holds for Bella Ballet.

This 50 minute class enables students to show an understanding of basic Ballet technique, which includes being able to demonstrate secure classical posture and weight placement with appropriate use of ‘turn-out’. They should be able to move with ease across the floor while establishing harmonious lines through the body and demonstrate an ability to perform with increasing confidence, awareness of the audience and responsiveness to musical rhythms, phrasing and dynamics. Our goal is to provide a Christ-like ballet experience that teaches strong ballet technique to offer a firm foundation in their walk with Christ as well as a foundation in the ballet career if they choose to go further in their learning in addition to performing in a modest and God-glorifying attire and manner.
This 90 minute class enables students to demonstrate an increasing consolidation of knowledge and understanding of a systematically developed vocabulary of balletic movements. These include the ability to demonstrate various steps showing confident control of posture, turnout and line while turning and jumping. Students also further develop an awareness of their own safe dance practice and demonstrate an ability to perform with increasing confidence, awareness of the audience and responsiveness to musical rhythms, phrasing and dynamics. Our goal is to further ballet technique in students who show dedication and commitment to their learning and to teach them to do their best to the glory of God and not for themselves. (Advanced II is a continuation of I, working on the same techniques but in an older age group).
