A variety of volunteer opportunities are available at Southern Seminary for all schedules and stages of life. Whether you are only looking to serve one time at an event or if you hope to volunteer in an ongoing position with responsibility, learning, and commitment, there are many opportunities to partner with us in our mission to equip ministers of the gospel, and serve our community.
Interested in exploring our service opportunities? We have created additional opportunities for those with special interests and gifting, so please inquire if you are looking for an opportunity not listed.
These are our staple opportunities for those looking for a consistent opportunity to serve in our community. These teams greatly serve in providing essential services to students, faculty and guests.
Monday – Friday, 2 – 5 p.m.
Affectionately called “The Free Store,” the Attic serves students and student families through the distribution of free used clothing, shoes, household goods and furniture. Join the Attic team in their essential work needed to sort and organize donations, serving and encouraging our students and their families.
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:50 – 11:10 a.m.
Greet students, staff, faculty, and families to the SBTS Chapel on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We have an excellent team of ushers who are essential to our chapel’s operating smoothly and without distractions.
Volunteer for the Events Team to serve at an upcoming conference. Typical tasks are serving at the registration desk, ushering, and assisting guests and speakers.
These are our largest events that happen every year. We would love to connect with you if any of these opportunities interest you.
The Fall Festival takes place early September each year as an expression of welcome to our incoming students and celebration with our students, alumni, staff, families and community.
The Great Commission Race is an annual race hosted by the Bevin Center for Missions Mobilization. This race unites the city of Louisville and Southern’s campus to work towards the seminary’s goals in fitness, fellowship and fundraising for missions. All proceeds and donations benefit those participating in mission trips through Southern Seminary.
