The employee in this position will have the following essential job functions:

  • Receive and direct incoming calls for Communications
  • Curation and distribution of Towers weekly emails
  • Assist Vice President with daily responsibilities (scheduling, correspondence, etc.)
  • Maintain Communications office files
  • Maintain general management for Communications
  • Maintain MS Excel spreadsheets
  • Coordinate travel for the annual Southern Baptist Convention
  • Circulate Baptist News Global (BNG), Baptist Press, and Religion News Service (RNS) e-mails on a daily basis
  • Process all budget-related items such as check requests, expense reimbursements, purchase orders/requisitions, invoices and capital requests
  • Manage office procurement card records and monthly reconciliation
  • Renew subscriptions and pay various membership dues
  • Create purchase order requests
  • Process payments for freelance workers
  • Send Albert and Mary Mohler’s bios and/or photos to requestors
  • Update trustee report as needed by Vice President
  • Schedule appointments for use of Communications conference room (HCC 203, 201)
  • Update Communications contact list and employee schedules as needed
  • Set up new employees with voicemail, e-mail account, key authorization, etc.
  • Update President’s bulletin board with new blog posts, calendars, and events
  • Coordinate staff Christmas and summer parties
  • Provide hospitality to guests in the Communications office
  • Coordinate office birthdays/special events
  • Update Albert Mohler’s Christmas card recipient list (designated sections)
  • General upkeep of office (watering plants, tidiness, etc.)
  • Help with various projects and tasks assigned by Vice President
