An important message for the SBTS and Boyce College family.
As we continue to prioritize the public health and safety of our campus community and to abide by the guidelines issued to us by local, state, and federal health agencies, the James P. Boyce Centennial Library will be operating in an online service model beginning on Monday, March 23.
This means that the physical library facilities will close on Friday, March 20 at 5pm, the end of scheduled operating hours. Until further notice, we will continue to provide most library resources and services remotely. More information about those services is available at the library’s web site and will be updated in the coming days.
An important message for the SBTS and Boyce College family.
In light of recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and federal and state government officials, Southern Seminary will postpone all campus events until further notice. We will announce a decision about future campus events, including graduation, as soon as more information is available from the CDC and other government agencies.
In the meantime, the Southern Seminary and Boyce College teams are currently preparing a virtual Preview Day and other visit options for prospective students. For more information, email the Office of Admissions at admissions@sbts.edu.
For questions related to any campus event, please contact eventproductions@sbts.edu.
Southern Seminary has reached new decisions in response to the rapidly changing COVID-19 situation. We are taking these actions in light of requests from our state government and, in particular, from our governor. These actions are taken with the intent of protecting the well-being and health of our students, faculty, and staff.
Please continue to monitor developments through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and take all appropriate preventative measures.
SBTS and Boyce College will continue to provide updates as more information is available and governmental agencies make on-going recommendations on COVID-19.
The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Boyce College continue to monitor the outbreak of the respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) coronavirus, now named COVID-19, which was first detected in Wuhan, China. At this time, there have been no reported cases of the coronavirus on the campus of SBTS. We want you to know that out of an abundance of caution and desire to protect our campus community, Southern Seminary is taking proactive measures to monitor and prepare for this virus. We are following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance and working closely with Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness and the Kentucky Department of Public Health.
We understand that there can be a great amount of concern and uncertainty among the campus community, especially for a situation that is evolving and changing on a daily basis. The safety and well-being of our students, families, faculty and staff is our highest priority.
The CDC reports that patients with confirmed COVID-19 infection have reportedly had mild to severe respiratory illness with such symptoms as fever, cough, and shortness of breath.
Should any student, faculty, or staff member begin to experience any of these symptoms, or have recently traveled to affected areas, or have been exposed to others who have traveled to affected areas, we ask them to contact the Campus Clinic at (502) 897-4497 before going to the Clinic or notify their health care provider immediately.
