Whether you are interested in a Ph.D., D.Min., or one of our four other programs, we invite you to Louisville to tour campus, meet faculty, and get your specific questions answered regarding doctoral studies.

Doctoral Campus Visits
These visits are tailored to address the unique needs of prospective doctoral students. Two nights of complimentary hotel lodging is included for prospective students and their families.
Our doctoral campus visits are ideal for those who have specific questions, or would like a personalized look at SBTS. If you are more interested in a broader overview of our programs, we encourage you to visit for SBTS Preview Day.

Campus Visits Include:
- Optional Campus Tours – Planning to move to Louisville for your program? Great! We’d love to show you around campus. If you are considering a modular program, feel free to skip this part.
- Coffee & Conversation with Staff – We know students often have specific questions about applying to doctoral-level programs. You’ll have a personalized walk-through of the process and a chance to ask questions through this conversation time with our staff.
- 1892 Club & Colloquium Visit – Students interested in Research Doctoral Programs have the opportunity to experience these doctoral academic sessions.

SBTS Preview Day
October & April
Join us for our largest visit day of the year. You’ll have a special doctoral student breakout session along with the opportunity to tour the campus, meet faculty, and learn why SBTS is a premier institution for theological doctoral studies. Preview Day is a great opportunity for those who have never visited campus before.

Year Round
If you are unable to attend Preview Day or one of our Doctoral Campus Visits, we would still love to host you for one of our year-round individual visits. While we are unable to offer doctoral-specific information sessions, prospective students can tour campus and meet with admissions staff to get their questions answered.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
71 HOURS · 3-4 YEARS
Doctor of Philosophy students are trained to advance Christian scholarship for effective kingdom ministry in a confessional environment of academic excellence.
Doctor of Education (Ed.D.)
60 HOURS · 2.5 YEARS
The purpose of the Doctor of Education program is to equip men and women to serve as leaders in educational institutions and in the educational ministries of the church.
Doctor of Missiology
64 HOURS · 3 YEARS
The Doctor of Missiology program is designed to provide advanced formal education, guided reading in pertinent missiological literature, field experience, and mentoring to missionaries, teachers, and administrators.
Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.)
32 HOURS · 3 YEARS
The Doctor of Ministry degree equips ministry leaders with the skills necessary to achieve excellence in their vocational and personal lives.
Doctor of Educational Ministry (D.Ed.Min.)
46 HOURS · 3 YEARS
The Doctor of Educational Ministry equips persons committed to Christian leadership for excellence in the practice of education, discipleship, leadership, church revitalization, missions, and counseling.
Master of Theology
24-26 HOURS · 1.5 YEARS
The program acquaints students with the resources and research methods of a major area of study and offers focused time for further reflection in preparation for ministry.
