JOB FUNCTIONS

The employee in this position will have the following essential job functions:

  • Obtain and maintain the necessary skills and certifications to execute job responsibilities and requirements (CPR, Standard First Aid, Lifeguard Certification, Jefferson County Board of Health Permit, and Health and Recreation Center policies, procedures and skills outlined in the “Staff” and “Guard” manuals, weekly swimming requirements)
  • Participate in In-service training sessions as scheduled • Open and close the natatorium area as assigned
  • Supervise the activities in the natatorium area to promote and ensure a safe environment
  • Maintain proper pool chemicals and take chemical readings during each shift
  • Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of the natatorium area
  • Report maintenance and supply needs to the Head Guard or other necessary individuals
  • Explain and enforce Health and Recreation Center policies and procedures when necessary

Performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
