The employee in this position will have the following essential job functions:

  • Provide administrative assistance for (1) the Dean of Students, (2) the Student Leadership team, (3) the Assistant Director of Student Life, the Resident Director of Housing, (5) the Resident Directors, and (6) the Coordinator of Events, Activities, and Traditions.
  • Administer all Housing communications with students, various campus departments, and online interactions.
  • Assist students, staff and visitors.
  • Answer phones and manage email accounts.
  • Assist with planning and quality control for events.
  • Keep web content updated and accurate: once per week by uploading events and Dorm Meeting links, upkeeping the Boyce Housing page, and uploading various schedules.
  • Assist with the writing and editing of manuals, handbooks, and forms.
  • Organize forms and records (print and electronic).
  • Manage calendars and scheduling for staff and department.
  • Attend student/staff training, retreats, and orientations.
  • Provide research assistance for the Dean of Students.
  • Invest in students relationally throughout the work day.
  • Administer, manage, and keep accurate record of procurement card expenses, staff spending, and department budget.
  • Prepare and process new hires on the Boyce Student Life team.
  • Handle and process all honorariums, gifts, and other speaker expenses for Dorm Meeting.
  • Write, edit, and send the weekly Boyce Life email with the Assistant Director.
  • Manage Sampey Commons calendar reservations, cleanliness, and order.
  • Receive and process marketing and other print shop jobs and projects.
  • Receive and process staff reimbursements.
  • Assist Dean of Students in preparing annual department budget.
  • Maintain confidentiality between students, staff and families.
  • Communicate daily with internal departments.
  • Connects students and families with various resources on/off campus.
  • Participate in weekly staff meeting to plan, assess, monitor, and evaluate student life programs and processes.
  • Keep offices stocked with appropriate office supplies and materials for efficient work flow, and manage office organization.
  • Enter student charges for resident life fines and activity charges.
  • Keep and inform students of various student life policies as needed.
  • Assist in planning, budgeting, and day of activities for the biannual orientation for new students and families.


Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
