JOB FUNCTIONS

The employee in this position will have the following essential job functions:

  • Provide academic advising to undergraduate level students. Responsibilities include assisting students with decisions about majors and the process of declaring/changing majors, guiding students during course registration periods, and helping students develop a responsible approach to academic planning
  • Work with students to develop realistic goals that will contribute to academic and personal success in college; motivate students to achieve education goals
  • Lead in the design, development, and execution of workshops, seminars, and events for students
  • Provide individualized outreach to students based on identified risk factors including academic, financial, and socio-emotional
  • Refer and connect students to relevant resources, coordinate with other offices regarding additional outreach and support
  • Identify and reach out to students with academic deficiencies—those on either academic warning or academic probation—and provide personalized academic success plans and accountability
  • Monitor and record progress of individual students, maintain consistent and confidential records of individual student data
