What type of ministry is God calling you to?  What and where is your mission field?  What spiritual gifts do you have for ministry?  Southern Seminary takes seriously the call to the ministry and training of ministers of the gospel.  Our Southern Preview Day gives us the opportunity to hear from you and help explore different options for how to most effectively develop the gifts God has given you for ministry.

Hear from Faculty
As you consider Southern Seminary, it is important to us that you get to know the faculty under whom you will study. We start off on Friday by hearing from Dr. Russell Moore about preparing for ministry, and have other faculty lectures set up throughout the day.  Dr. Mohler, the administration, and faculty all make themselves available at these special times in our semester as we celebrate God’s call on your life. Besides gaining helpful information about degree program and practical issues, we will worship and pray together as we seek to honor the Lord in our obedience to Him.

Information Fair
Two questions many people have when counting the cost for seminary is, “How will I pay for it? What type of employment opportunities exist?”  Built into our information fair is a time where we present opportunities for employment, how our ministry referral office works, and different approaches to paying for seminary. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn about degree programs, connect with local businesses and find out about on-campus resources at the fair.

Housing & Campus Tours
We look forward to hosting you on a tour with a well-trained guide to explain the history and heritage of our school. We also realize that housing is at the top of many people’s priority list.  For this reason we have optional time for a campus housing tour where you will see different on campus housing options with varying floor plans, locations, and accommodations depending on your needs.

Faculty Dinner
The faculty dinner is great time for you to enjoy a wonderful meal and converse with faculty, student ambassadors, and other prospective students.  After dinner, you’re invited to an informal Q & A time with Dr. Mohler and Dr. Moore. This time, along with the dessert reception at the President’s home, allows them to share some of their personal lives and gives great insight into their vision for Southern Seminary.
