The Latest Issue of the Journal of Discipleship and Family Ministry is Now Available

by Derek Brown – Nov 11

We are happy to announce that the latest issue of the Journal of Discipleship and Family Ministry is now available.  The theme of our Fall 2011 installment is Adoption. In this issue we have provided several articles that touch on this vital topic from a variety of perspectives.  John Mark Yeats begins the feature article section by providing a biblical vision of adoption, drawing from pertinent Old and New Testament texts.  David Gundersen follows Yeats with a thorough treatment of Paul’s adoption metaphor in Romans 8, while Andy Stirrup rounds off the feature articles by examining how God’s pattern of relating to the Israelites might inform our understanding of healthy attachment and the problem of attachment disorder.  The remaining articles range from essays that help parents determine when it is appropriate to take their child to the doctor, to how adoption relates to missions and the spread of the gospel.  Included in this section are contributions from Randy Stinson, Justin Taylor, Voddie Baucham, William Cutrer, Steve Clark, and Erik Thoennes.
