CALL FOR PAPERS
The Journal of Discipleship and Family Ministry, a publication of the Gheens Center for Christian Family Ministry at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, is pleased to announce a special issue dedicated to exploring family structures in the early church and the perception of children among Christians in the patristic era. This issue entitled “Children and Families in the Early Church” will be published in Fall 2012. Articles must be submitted for consideration no later than June 1, 2012, with a preference for earlier submissions. The Journal of Discipleship and Family Ministry is an academic and professional journal dedicated to research and application in the field of church-based ministry to families. The Journal of Discipleship and Family Ministry is published as a printed journal, in ebook formats, and on the website of the Gheens Center (http://www.FamilyMinistryToday.com).
AUDIENCE: Professors, pastors, and ministers with interest in the fields of family ministry, youth ministry, and children’s ministry. Approximately 2,500 persons read each issue.
LENGTH OF FEATURE ARTICLES: Between 7,500 and 15,000 words

CONTENT GUIDELINES: Because readers of The Journal of Discipleship and Family Ministry include not only professors but also ministers in local congregations of believers, contributors are encouraged to make specific application to the life and work of the local church. The Journal of Discipleship and Family Ministry is a confessional publication. Although The Journal of Discipleship and Family Ministry welcomes submissions from researchers with a broad range of backgrounds, contributors are asked to write in ways that are congruent with our confessional statements, The Abstract of Principles and The Baptist Faith and Message.
