Black Church Leadership

The Doctor of Ministry and the Doctor of Educational Ministry in Black Church Leadership is designed primarily to equip ministers who serve African-Americans and other racial minorities. The program of study emphasizes meeting needs through urban community ministries and focuses upon the unique concerns relative to ministering to people of color.

Are you concerned with the unique ministry challenges in the African-American community? Placing a special emphasis on meeting the needs of the African-American community, the concentration in Black Church Leadership is designed to equip ministers for a high level of excellence in churches serving primarily African-American or other minorities.

This program of study is offered as a 32 Hour D.Min. degree.

Course curriculum includes:

Project Methodology (1 hour)
Intro to Doctoral Research & Writing (1 hour)
Four Foundational Seminars (16 hours)
- Black Church Historical/Theological Emphasis
- Black Church Leadership and Administration
- Black Church Ministry with the Community
- Ministry Transitions for the Black Church of the 21^st Century

Contextualized Writing Seminars (8 hours)
Ministry Research Project or Thesis (6 hours)

This program of study is also offered as a 46 Hour D.Ed.Min. degree.
