SBTS Missions Grants

Missions Grant for Current Missionaries

Missionaries who are currently serving full-time or emeritus with IMB or NAMB (Career, Limited Term, Journeyman, ISC, US2, MATSIL) may be eligible for a tuition grant from SBTS. Master-level students may be eligible for a grant of 50% of tuition and Internet fees. Research doctoral students may be eligible for a grant of 30% of tuition and professional doctoral students may be eligible for a grant of 20% of tuition. Students must remain in good academic standing with the institution. The Missions Grant may not be combined with other SBTS Scholarships. Should the student resign from IMB or NAMB, the grant will be discontinued. Learn more about deadlines and stipulations on the Missions Grant Policies page.

Returning Journeyman/ISC Missions Grant

The Returning Journeymen/ISC Grant is available to students who have returned from serving with the IMB within the past two years, having completed the Journeyman or ISC programs. Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student in a master-degree program on the Louisville campus or at an extension center. Part-time education and online education is not included. Students must remain in good academic standing with the institution. Returning Journeyman/ISC are eligible for a 75% tuition grant for their first calendar year of study and a 50% tuition grant during years 2-4 of study. MK Grant

Children of currently serving, full-time or emeritus IMB or NAMB missionaries may be eligible for a 100% tuition grant for their first four years of study. Applicants must be under 30 years of age upon enrollment and must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or master-degree program at the Louisville campus or at an extension center. Part-time education and online education is not included in the grant. Students must remain in good academic standing with the institution. Should the student’s parents resign from IMB or NAMB, the grant will be discontinued. Learn more about deadlines and stipulations on the Missions Grant Policies page.

2+ Missions Grant

Students enrolled in the 2+ program are eligible for a 75% tuition grant and 50% Internet fee grant during the field portion of their program. Students are not eligible for the grant during their first two to three years of on-campus study. Learn more about deadlines and stipulations on the Missions Grant Policies page.

Reverse 2+2 Missions Grant

Students enrolled in the Reverse 2+2 program are eligible for a 50% tuition and Internet fee grant during the field portion of their study. Students receive the tuition grant for both field and campus portions of their program. However, the Internet fee grant is available only during the field portion of program. Students must be enrolled full-time at SBTS during the campus portion of their program and studies must be completed at the Louisville campus or at an extension center. Residency policies apply. Spouses of Missions Grant Recipients

Spouses of full-time students receiving the Currently Serving Missions Grant and the Returning Journeyman Missions Grant are eligible to apply for the Spouse Grant. The Spouse Grant is not available when both spouses are Missions Grant recipients or if the spouse receiving the Missions Grant is not a full-time student.
