Lieutenant Junior Grade Barrett D. Craig, CCPO, USN

Student LeaderLieutenant Junior Grade Barrett Craig is currently serving in the Navy Chaplain Candidate Program (CCPO). His ultimate desire is to supersede as an active duty Naval Chaplain.

CCPO Craig was born 16 November 1977 in Boulder, CO. In August 1996, he entered into the United States Marine Corps at MCRD San Diego. CCPO Craig served as an Amphibious Assault Vehicle crewman. While serving as an AAV crewman he did two Western Pacific deployments, both on the USS Denver. In August 2000 he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant.

After the Marine Corps, CCPO Craig began his undergraduate work at Cedarville University. He graduated in 2003 with a major in Pre-Seminary and a minor in Philosophy.

In December 2003 CCPO Craig was commissioned as an Ensign in the Inactive Ready Reserve under the Chaplain Candidate Program and the following summer he completed the Chaplain Basic training in Newport, Rhode Island.

In the fall of 2004, CCPO Craig began his graduate work at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He currently has one year remaining before earning his Masters in Divinity in Biblical and Theological Studies.
