The Great Commission Center exists to…

• Lead students to a thorough consideration of the claims of international missions upon them personally as a lifework
• Foster this by guiding students in their studies and activities for missions
• Mobilize a missions force of well-qualified missionaries
• Create an intelligent, sympathetic and active interest in international missions on the part of students who remain at home in order to ensure the strong backing of the missionary enterprise by their advocacy, their gifts, and their prayers

Staff

M. David Sills is the Director of The Great Commission Center. He also serves as Associate Professor of Christian Missions and Cultural Anthropology, Director of the International Church Planting Program (2+2/2+3), and Director of the Doctor of Missiology Program.

Dr. Sills joined Southern Seminary after serving as a missionary in Ecuador. While with the International Mission Board, he served as church planter and general evangelist among the Highland Quichua people in the Andes and as a seminary professor at the Ecuadorian Baptist Theological Seminary. He also served as Rector and professor of the Baptist seminary as a missionary with Global Outreach International. Dr. Sills is the author of two books on the Highland Quichua indigenous people published in Spanish. He has traveled internationally preaching, teaching, and leading mission teams for over fifteen years. Among his professional memberships are the Evangelical Missiological Society, the American Society of Missiology, the Association of Professors of Mission.

Great Commission Council

The Great Commission Council is made up of faculty, members of Student Life and Billy Graham School Council members. The Council functions as an advisory board for partnership and policy development.
