In addition to his role at SBTS, Dr. Henard serves as Senior Pastor of the Porter Memorial Baptist Church in Lexington. He has served as a trustee at Lifeway Christian Resources (including a two year-term as Chairman of the Board), President of the Kentucky Baptist Convention, and First Vice President of the Southern Baptist Convention.  He is co-editor of E3: Evangelicals Engaging Emergent and has contributed chapters to The Great Commission Resurgence and Christian America?  and Mobliizing a Great Commission Church for Outreach. He is a member of the Academy for Evangelism in Theological Education, the Great Commission Research Network (formerly the American Society for Church Growth), the Evangelical Homiletics Society, the Evangelical Theological Society and the Southern Baptist Professors of Evangelism Fellowship.
