William D. Henard III

Assistant Professor of Evangelism and Church Growth (2007)

Dr. Henard serves as Senior Pastor of the Porter Memorial Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky, in addition to teaching in the Billy Graham School at Southern Seminary. A consistent denominational leader, he has served as First Vice President of the Southern Baptist Convention, President of the Kentucky Baptist Convention, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of LifeWay Christian Resources. Dr. Henard is author of the forthcoming Can These Bones Live?, co-editor of Evangelicals Engaging Emergent, and has contributed chapters to The Great Commission Resurgence, Christian America?, and Mobilizing a Great Commission Church for Harvest. He is a member of the Academy for Evangelism in Theological Education, the Great Commission Research Network, the Evangelical Homiletics Society, and the Evangelical Theological Society.
