Kenneth S. Hemphill

Distinguished Professor of Evangelism and Church Growth (2005)

Dr. Hemphill comes to Southern Seminary with a broad range of experience, having served as a pastor, denominational leader, and author. He was the seventh President of the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and served as the Southern Baptist Convention’s National Strategist for Empowering Kingdom Growth as well as Director of the Southern Baptist Center for Church Growth. He currently serves as Director of the Center for Church Planting and Revitalization at North Greenville University. Dr. Hemphill is the author of several books, including The Antioch Effect, Revitalizing the Sunday Morning DinosaurThe Bonsai Theory of Church Growth, and The Names of God.
