Lambert is a professor at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has taught courses in biblical counseling since 2006, joining the faculty after serving several years in pastoral ministry at churches in Kentucky and North Carolina. Lambert’s passion is to equip church leaders to be Christ-exalting ministers of the Word of God, fostering in his students a zeal to preach God’s Word, counsel God’s Word, and live God’s Word.
Lambert currently serves as the executive director of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), one of the largest biblical counseling organizations in the world with certified members in 18 countries. He is also a founding council board member of the Biblical Counseling Coalition (BCC), and is a frequent conference speaker.
He is the author of The Biblical Counseling Movement After Adams (Crossway), Finally Free: Fighting for Purity with the Power of Grace (Zondervan), and the editor (with Stuart Scott) of Counseling the Hard Cases: True Stories Illustrating the Sufficiency of God’s Resources in Scripture (B&H).
Lambert is honored to live with his four favorite people in the world, his wife, Lauren, and their three children: Carson, Chloe, and Connor.
