Dr. Wills is Director of Research Doctoral Studies and Professor of Church History. He has served in a number of other roles since joining the seminary in 1994, including Dean of the School of Theology, Vice-President for Institutional Research, and Archives and Special Collections Librarian. Dr. Wills also taught at Southern Seminary from 1997-2019. From 2019-2022, he was Dean of the School of Theology and Professor of Church History at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He rejoined Southern Seminary in 2023. He is married to Cathy, and they have four children. He is a member of LaGrange Baptist Church in LaGrange, Kentucky.
