Southern Seminary Online
Course Access Instructions
Welcome to the world of distance learning through Southern Seminary and Boyce College Online! You may have questions concerning how your internet course is going to function. After you have been properly admitted as a student at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and have registered for an online course via the web registration process (go to Online Registration) read the following information very carefully in order to have the greatest possible educational experience.
- After you have registered for an online course, you will access most of your course components via e-Campus. If you are a new student, you should have received information concerning how to log on to e-Campus from the Information Technology shortly after your approval. You may also access e-Campus from the home page of this website and at https://ecampus.sbts.edu directly.
- If you have registered for an online course that features lectures on CDs/DVDs, they will be mailed to you. Please note however, lecture CDs/DVDs will not be mailed until the course fees have been paid via e-Cashier. Therefore, in order to receive your lectures in time for the beginning of the semester, it is recommended that the course fees be paid as soon as tuition payment opens. To determine semester billing dates, see Billing Dates (PDF), which are also available from the Academic Records Registration page. If you are on campus, you may pick the lectures up in HCC200 once your tuition is paid. Keep in mind that online courses follow the same semester calendar as on campus courses.
- The course CDs/DVDs are for registered students only. Do not make copies or share these resources. Due to copyright and intellectual property issues and policies, the CDs/DVDs remain the property of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. You must agree to accept and sign a Student User Agreement in order to receive course credit. The agreement will be e-mailed to your SBTS student e-mail address. A copy of the Student User Agreement (PDF) may also be downloaded. A signed, hard copy must be postal mailed to Southern Seminary Online 2825 Lexington Road, HCC 200, Box 2378, Louisville, KY 40280 by the end of the first full month of the semester.
- For directions in the use of the course CDs/DVDs, go to Directions to use Internet Course Media.
- For information concerning other online resources and program policies, please browse the links found at the top and side of this page. Links to library resources, faculty advisors, textbook and curriculum information, our virtual chapel, and much more are available.
- If you do not intend on remaining in an online course, please drop it as soon as possible. Other students need and are hoping to get the seat! If you must drop an online course, please do not simply “not show up”. If you do not properly drop an online course for which you are registered, you will receive a failing grade at the end of the semester.
- To drop an online course prior to the close of web registration, go to Online Registration and follow the instructions for dropping a course.
- To drop an online course after the close of web registration and before the mid-point of the semester, complete the Course Drop Form and submit it to the Office of Academic Records. You must also return any course CDs/DVDs and signed Student User Agreements to the Office of Distance Education and Innovative Learning immediately. In addition, it would be considerate to e-mail the professor so he or she will not be looking for you.
