Pendergraph Women’s Ministry
The Pendergraph Women’s Ministry came into existence because of the need for fellowship and sharing of common concerns among wives of seminary students. The widow of former Southern Seminary student Dr. G. R. Pendergraph gave an endowment in 1984 to meet what she remembered during her years as a Southern Seminary student’s wife, to be a pressing need. As a result of her initiative, in April of 1985 a combination Bible study and support group formed and met with great success.
This offered a model for the original seminary wives fellowship. In 1995 the focus was changed to allow wives and female students to be a part of this ministry. As God has continued to bless The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, the ministry had branched out to include all women who are a part of the seminary community. Thus, we are honored to bear the name Pendergraph Women's Ministry.
