Academic Advisement is available for students beginning with questions that they may have even before they’ve been admitted, as well as on through their studies up until their graduation.

New Students. Students begin their advisement formally when they come for new student orientation just prior to commencing their studies at the beginning of their first semester. At this very important initial orientation advisement session, all students are introduced to the Senior Associate Dean and the Academic Advisor, and they are informed of the procedure they may follow for academic advising at any point in their programs of study.

Program Progress Form. All MDiv students should secure a “Program Progress Form” outlining the precise program and track requirements they are seeking to complete. These are provided at the initial orientation advisement session and are available from the Secretary to the Senior Associate Dean, School of Theology (N 146; 897-4697; mdiv@sbts.edu) or available from our program progress forms online.

Graduation. During the last semester of course study, all students must contact the Office of Academic Records and fill out a “graduation application” to declare their intended date of graduation. The deadline for applications is September 15 for fall graduation and February 15 for spring graduation.
