School of Missions, Evangelism and Church Growth

Message from the Dean

Dean Chuck Lawless
Chuck Lawless

I am glad that you are considering joining, or have already joined, the student body of the Billy Graham School of Missions, Evangelism and Church Growth. We are firmly committed to giving our students a solid theological base combined with the best practical training to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. In fact, my vision is for the Graham School to be an "Acts 1:8 School" that impacts Louisville, Kentucky, North America, and the world for God's glory. We have already seen our graduates serve God faithfully as pastors, church staff members, North American church planters, international missionaries, denominational employees, college and seminary professors, and as well-equipped laypersons. Perhaps you will be the next graduate to carry on this tradition.

At the Graham School, you have the privilege of studying with the finest Great Commission faculty in the world. Our professors love what they do here at Southern Seminary. They genuinely believe in missions, evangelism and healthy church growth—so much so that they not only teach these disciplines, but they also live them. You will want to get to know these professors, learn from them, study with them, serve with them in local churches, and travel with them on mission trips. On campus, you will want to join a shepherding group led by one of these men. Our goal is that our faculty will impact your life both inside and outside of the classroom.

As the dean of the Graham School, I invite you to stop by my office and talk with me. Let me know how we can better prepare you to fulfill the Great Commission.

Blessings,
Dr. Lawless
