Oratorio Chorus

About Us

The Oratorio Chorus is one of the performing ensembles within Southern Seminary's School of Church Music and Worship. A mixed choir of 80-100 singers, the group is open, without audition, to seminary students and members of the Louisville community who enjoy performing the great works written for orchestra and chorus.

The Oratorio Chorus rehearses from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Monday evenings in Cooke Hall and generally performs in Alumni Memorial Chapel on the Seminary's beautiful Lexington Road campus. There are usually two extra rehearsals the week of performances.

Singers interested in participating in the Oratorio Chorus should contact the School of Church Music and Worship, 502-897-4115, or Professor Carl Stam, 502-897-4709.
