Marvin E. Tate Senior Professor of Old Testament Interpretation

Dr. Marvin Tate has authored Psalms 51-100 in the Word Biblical Commentary and contributed to the works on "Job" and "Proverbs" to the Broadman Bible Commentary. He also served on the translation team of the New International Version. Dr. Tate is the author of dozens of significant articles. He has been active in the National Association of Baptist Professors of Religion and the Society of Biblical Literature. Dr. Tate has been active in Sothern Baptist life for many years and has served churches in Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas and Indiana.
